The continuing story

Hello everyone!

My name is Mike Rooney. I have the honor of taking over the TexomaJeeps.com site and retail store. Hopefully my family and I can make the transition and your experience here a great one!

This little adventure started with a simple Craigslist.org ad mentioning a Jeep parts business for sale. My lovely bride Liz, showed me the ad and suggested we call on it.  A few emails, a couple personal visits, and here we are...

A little background about me.

I started life in the Jeep lane with a 1947 CJ-2A that I got as an early graduation present from my mother. Early, as in I was just a Junior in High School! Now this wasn't just any little flat-fender Jeep, the PO (previous owner) had stuffed a 327 Chevy smallblock under the hood. Now you can imagine a young guy with a hopped up rig like that and the trouble that could be raised.  Well it was raised all right! We went thru 4 transmissions, 3 transfer cases and no one counted the other parts that broke or plain fell off during its short life under my care! Never could kill the engine for some reason, tho we tried. Needless to say, I learned a lot on that CJ and many other older vehicles that followed.

Over the years I have owned a few other Jeeps, ranging from a 1955 Kaiser /Willys CJ-5, to a few of the old Willys pickup trucks, to an '83 CJ-7 for the wife, and my current ride, a 1974 CJ-5. So I have some history with the Short Wheelbase Jeeps, and a great love for them as well.

Taking over this business from George and his family fulfills a life-long dream of mine to be fully involved in the CJ life-style. We plan to offer great parts for great vehicles at incredible prices and keep as many of these history-making vehicles on the road as we can.

We have big plans for the site, so sign up and visit often. Members will be eligible for discounts, giveaways and anything else we can think of as time goes on!
